Islamic Ancestry have been selected to deliver the first ever theatre performance on the life of Shah Jalal in the heart of East London. We are currently looking to recruit talent to bring this performance to life. There are multiple opportunities available from lead actors and actresses, to sound and light engineers and Nasheed/ Daff drum artists.

Shah Jalal (ID: ACT01)
We are looking for the lead actor in this performance. You must be confident, charismatic and be willing to learn about and then embrace the identity of Shah Jalal.

We are looking for an actor that will play a good villian. You must be bold and striking, frightening the audience with your powerful voice.

We are looking for an actress that will play a vital role in which you will be playing the lead female role of an oppressed Bengali Muslim woman who's child was just executed by Gour Govinda. Your emotions must capture the attention of the audience.

We are looking for an actor that will play the role of the lead general of the Delhi Sultanate who has been at war with the Gour kingdom for over a century. You must be strong, well built and be able to deliver a powerful performance which includes swordfighting.

We are looking for a sound engineer that can help produce and choreograph all sound during the performance which includes live Daff/ drums.

Nasheed Artists (ID: ART01)
We are looking for a group of nasheed artists to perform classical Bengali poetry or alternatively English spoken word poetry during the performance. Artists are free to explore the style in which they deliver the performances. The use of Daff drums is encouraged.
